On Time God

On Time God

I entered the Uber with my colleague and requested the fastest route to the Kenyan Tourism Board office.

This meeting had been planned for months, and I was given a 30-minute window to make it count. Plus, I would be flying out of Nairobi that evening. There was no chance to reschedule.

Sir, do we have to take the expressway? The Uber driver asked.

Yes, of course, that’s the fastest route. I replied.

Oh! I don’t have enough money on my M-Pesa to pay for the toll.

You don’t!

He quickly called a friend to send him some money, but that friend did not pick up.

He had cash, but according to him, the cash lane is the slowest for the toll, and we’ll be late for this meeting.

Today, the cash lane will be the fastest-moving lane. I told him. I believe in miracles, so I am not bothered. Let’s go.

From the time we entered the expressway to the exit, he just kept saying wow, wow, wow. The entry toll was smooth, and the exit was even smoother with cash. The driver said ‘I have never seen the cash lane move faster than the electronic gates before.’

We arrived at the Kenyan Tourism Board office before the person who scheduled the meeting.

Sometimes, all the facts and experience point towards how difficult or impossible something is. That’s why the Bible wants us to know that we ‘walk by faith, and not by sight’.

Take that step of faith!

On Time God is a song I’m listening to right now. Check it out.
