There are many lessons from Laycon – Winner of BBNaija Lockdown. Here are 3 hidden lessons that you probably missed.

Laycon won BBNaija Lockdown with total prize reward worth N85m. But that’s just the small part of the story for this guy (at least from my view). His journey in the house was interesting and the team that handled his digital platforms deserve a good mention and applause.

There are a few lessons that caught my attention in his story.

Lessons from Laycon

Lesson 1 – His focus on something small and clear

I just want to promote my song. Even if it is only for 2 weeks.

There is reward in being super clear on what you want to do. It is better to have clarity on something small than be big and vague.

Lesson 2 – Done is better than perfect

He was creating music, even when it looked like no one was listening. There is very little time to create when opportunities arise. It may not be perfect, but be creating and honing your craft before the opportunity comes. His song Fierce is actually quite good (read a ‘banger’ 😂). It felt like he wrote it for the whole experience.

Lesson 3 – Put effort and do your best

I know I said ‘done is better than perfect’, but don’t do shabby work. That same song was actually well produced (to a layman like me) and even had Reminisce (I knew him from ‘King of Boys’) on the track.

Awa fierce…. Gan

  1. Nice tidbits, I was initially focused on the marketing side of thing with BBNJA and tried to get my team to see brand use of the Naija version of Super Bowl but got hooked to Laycon’s quotable quotes and before long I was voting with my DSTV subscription. Thanks for the fresh and relatable insights. Focus on one thing 🦾
